We have noticed an increase in students arriving late to school each day. Our school day begins promptly at 7:40 a.m., and students are considered tardy after 7:45 a.m.
When students arrive 10–15 minutes late, they are missing valuable instructional time. Over time, this adds up to a significant loss of learning.
We need your support in making sure that your child(ren) arrive on time every day so they can fully benefit from classroom instruction. Together, we can ensure that every student has the best opportunity to succeed.

Electives are in full swing! Tiger Tactics learned the rules of ultimate basketball (no dribbling + team work!) and Butterfly Garden created beautiful water feeders for the 🦋!
NEW NEWS 🗞️! Butterfly Garden, Tap-Tap-Tap (new shoes!!!), and Minds in Motion are off to a great start in semester 1 - 4th and 5th grade electives!
☕✨ Java with Jermall kicks off this week! Join LRSD Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright on this Wednesday at Southwest High between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. for coffee, refreshments, and great conversation with parents, staff, and community members. Exciting work coming from Music and Art. In Music, the 4th graders are reviewing musical symbols. One of their activities is drawing cartoons using the music symbols. In art they are studying line. Mrs. Ibis and Mrs. Jacobs collaborated to show this fun mash-up!
